Fire Safety Induction Course

 

We strongly advise all staff members to take the Fire Safety Induction course, which includes fire safety procedures and the use of fire extinguishers.

Course content

This general workplace Fire Safety Induction introduces basic fire safety, prevention, and best practice. This includes:

  • Responsibilities for fire safety
  • Typical fire hazards and how to prevent or minimise the risks of fire
  • Fire signs
  • Fire exits, assembly points and evacuation procedures
  • Types of fire extinguishers, what fires they should (and shouldn’t) be used for
  • How to respond appropriately upon discovering a fire
  • Identifying people who may need help to evacuate in the event of a fire

This is a 3-hour course which can be delivered in person (ideally) or remotely if more suitable.

Fire Marshal Training

 

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires employers to have a strategy to evacuate all occupants within a building.

Our Fire Marshal training course is for responsible staff members appointed as fire marshals and wardens to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to fulfil their duties. It is suitable for people with responsibility for fire safety – fire wardens and fire marshals, as well as line managers, supervisors and safety representatives.

Course content

Delegates will learn about fire regulations, fire behaviour, fire classifications, how to put out a fire, and how to evacuate safely.

  • Basic principles of fire
  • Classification of fires
  • Basic principles of heat transmission and fire spread
  • Common causes and consequences of fires in the workplace
  • Legislation and fire risk assessment requirements
  • Control measures to minimise the risk of fire
  • Structural measures to prevent the spread of fire and smoke
  • Fire detection, fire warning and firefighting equipment
  • Requirements for fire plans
  • Emergency evacuation procedures.

This is a 3-hour course which can be delivered in person (ideally) or remotely if more suitable.
